PGA Tour Swings Into New Orleans
The PGA Tour gets ready for their annual stop in New Orleans as the Zurich Classic of New Orleans prepares to kick off tomorrow morning.
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans is the only professional golf event in the New Orleans area, played annually in late April. The Fore Kids Foundation has been the driving force behind the tournament and has raised nearly $26 million, providing health care, education, and raising and hope for over 200,000 children each year.
Normally the Zurich Classic is positioned well on the PGA Tour Schedule, as it sits two weeks after the Masters and two weeks prior to the Players Championship. However this year the tournament sits the week before a World Golf Championship event that is being played on the west coast. Despite that though the tournament still managed to pull in it's best field since 2012 that features top players such as Jason Day and Dustin Johnson as well as fan favorite Steve Stricker
The TPC of Louisiana has been the host golf course since 2005 and has become a favorite among tour players that are preparing for the Players Championship. Both courses were designed by Pete Dye and have very similar features to one another.
You can catch all the action Thursday and Friday on Golf Channel from 2PM - 5PM as well as Saturday and Sunday from Noon - 1:30PM. CBS Sports will pick up the remainder of coverage on Saturday and Sunday from 2PM - 5PM.
